The airaid filter uses the bottom of your stock air box...so you still have air coming in

You will get the filter, attaching hose from intake to the "box" that is included. You will put the box together, put the weatherstripping around the top. When your hood is closed, the weatherstripping fits tight against the hood, completing the cold air intake. As rte66 said, "The box then attaches to your lower air box and the cold air comes in as usual."
