No your don't have to evac the system to replace the cycling witch but what your describing isn't what happens when that switch goes bad.

Thanks for the info about the switch but what do you think is causing it.I am pretty good at fixing any problems i have faced with my cars over the years but the air conditioning systems i am still learning. This is only the second time i had an ac problem.

I'm just passing on what I've run into and what I've read on the forums. Both the cycling switch and the High pressure switch on the compressor itself seems to be giving owners a bad time with the A/C. Apparently the high pressure switch is on a national back-order from the dealer as so many of them are needed to fix problems. A lot of problems are also caused by the fan not coming on, the system heats up and pressure builds up and the compressor vents freon out the bottom, then the system is low and the compressor stop working. It's all a vicious cycle. You say it's still under a warranty program so they are going to have to figure it out.

The compressor never shuts off (cycles) and it gets so cold, the evaporator freezes up and stops any cold air from getting into the cabin. But, if your getting air into the cabin and it's warm, then forget that scenario. That's what happened to mine and it's an easy fix with a new cycling switch.
So far it looks like you were right with this one.I took to there mechanic which has an awesome shop and very clean and he told me that it was the switch on the accumulator and he tried to fix it so it would last a little while but it only lasted the ride home which is twice as long as it has been in the last two days.He said the same thing, its on national back order.

I looked it up in the parts catalog for the 2007 cruiser. For some reason I can't explain, the SWITCH, A/C :Low Pressure Cut Off has a picture of the switch for the Non-turbo engine but there's no part number associated with it. However, on the Turbo Lite and the HO Turbo, both use part number 05058487AA. I can't say if the Turbo models with use the same switch.

I actually located a switch to fix my ac.I had to take an hour drive to Miami and an hour back but it was worth it because i had ice cold ac on the ride home.I am glad i was able to find one beacuse it would be probably a month before they came in,2300 on backorder with 1200 orders already made for them. Thanks to Crewsin for the info on it.
