Left side brake lights

Hey guys,

I am not a car guy by any means, so I am hoping some of you can help me.

I just picked up an 06 pt cruiser touring ed. Apparently the entire left side brake lights do not work. The right side is just fine.

What's funny is that the left side tail light does come on just fine when I am in park, but not when braking.

Any suggestions? I looked at the #3 fuse, but that was fine.

Welcome.
One torqx screw (I think it has a regular "flat" slot, too) holds the tail light in.
The sockets twist in. I suggest swapping bulbs left-right to rule them out.
If bulbs don't do it, look at the wires - especially right at the socket.

I am going to take a look at that in the morning. It just doesn't make much sense to me the the bulbs definitely work in both tail lights, but the tail light and top brake light on the left side won't work when braking.

You have a bad ground on the left side. Clean up the socket and make sure it is making a good ground.
