Check out the difference between a stock GT muffler and the BTG from PT-Tuning

I have the Bassani witch cost more than the BTG but you can quiet it down with a baffle that takes 5 minutes to take in or out and they stand behind what they make. My baffle started to look a little rusty so I contacted Bassani and they sent me a new one and it didn't cost me a dime. Even sent it 2nd day air.

I got mine from these folks they are the cheapest

I like my new BTG Axle-Back exhaust. It is somewhat "deeper and louder" than the Magnaflow installed on my former 2003 GT.

"The BTG"

"The MAGNAFLOW"

These are both excellent exhaust systems. [|)] IMHO, you can't go wrong with either one. [?] [8)]

I wanted to post my impression of the BTG axle back exhaust after I've lived with it for a couple weeks.

First, I have no way to compare this exhaust to any other aftermarket exhaust. I can only compare it to stock. Since I couldn't even hear the stock system, this makes comparison rather silly. (doesn't it?) The following review is COMPLETELY subjective based on my personal experience.

VOLUME: I can now hear the exhaust. It is rather low and loud. The sound will actually overpower the stereo until I turn it up to 20 or so. I would rate this exhaust as a "ROCK & ROLL" system. I would not buy it if I was into easy listening at low volume. On the highway, the sound can wear on your nerves if you like a quiet ride. Keep this in mind if you do a lot of highway driving.

FIT AND FINISH: This is a beautiful looking muffler. Yes, you can see the canister shaped muffler unlike the systems that have the muffler tucked away farther under the car. This does not bother me since this muffler is highly polished and way smaller than stock. The tip is nice looking and an improvment over stock in my opinion.

PERFORMANCE: It is impossible t say without a dyno. I have been through all the gears WOT and it is a pretty wild ride. Yes, it is loud but not obnoxious. There is no noticable burble when I let off.

OVERALL IMPRESSION. I have to admit that I sometimes miss the occasional quiet cruise. Those days are over unless I put the stock muffler back on. I also miss the soft ride of the stock springs until I go around a corner and then I appreciate my BTG springs. This exhaust fits into the "sporty" catagory. If you aren't into that, keep your stock exhaust sytem and stock springs.

Hay Gary . . . can you add anything to this post? I know you have the same exhaust.

GTSteve, your other option is to purchase the resonator section from PT-Tuning. They indicate that if you find the axle-back system too loud they will sell you the center section from the cat-back system for the difference in cost of the two systems. Should quiet things down significantly.

No, Steve--you said it well. GOOD REVIEW! If one wants to have a "show car" then you might want to get the Magnaflow system over BTG since it has a little nicer exterior appearance IMHO and comes with a resonator which mellows out the sound more than the BTG.

I have a locally made exhaust system that is also low and loud. I also have the volume up (but I would anyway) but once the Cruiser is cruisin' 50 mph and above the "roar" of the exhaust is gone. Almost none at all. Just a faint "purr". I like it very much.

From my experience to date with the BTG I have found this also to be true.
