Have you guys heard of this being a problem? I had the p0700 code checked into, and they are saying internal wiring problem or maybe the solenoid pack. The solenoid pack seems to be a very common problem, but I have not read anything about problems with internal wiring. Thanks in advance!

I agree with you. The solenoid pack usually turns out to be the problems with a fault code P0700. A scanner should be able to narrow it down.

I did have it scanned. It came up with shift 12 or shift 23, something in that nature. They said it could be an internal wiring problem or a solenoid pack. It seemed as if they were leaning to the wiring more so.
Questions: How hard is it to change? Im a little more than the average mechanic. How would I go about doing the relearn on the trans after installation? Can you granny it down the road to a shop to get it relearned or will it tear up again? |

Most likely your transmission is in limp in. It is in 2nd or 3rd gear (can't remember which). You can drive it to a transmission shop but drive it as little as possible.
If you are mechanically inclined it's not too hard. You have to take out the battery, tray and the bracket that holds the battery tray. Disconnect the trans cooler lines, remove the input speed sensor and remove the harness fromt the solenoid pack. Three bolts hold it on the trans. Make sure the mating surface is VERY clean before you put the new one in.

Easiest way to relearn is to disconnect battery and then go drive. It will relearn itself. It make shift a little odd for awhile but it will learn.

Are you 100% sure on that?

That I did not know, now the trust is there.
Thank you!I did or tried to do the solenoid test with the scanner last night. Im not sure how that test is supposed to work. I had a code p0755. We cleared the codes, and cycled the key. Cranked it, then I got a p0300 cylinder misfire. Any idea why that happened? Cleared the codes again, and all I have now is the p0755. I think Im going to go ahead and replace the solenoid pack. The scanner we were using, showed the relearn function, so maybe Ill just go that route. Thanks for all your input! |
