Sounds like the Turbo seals got overheated and crapped out and the cooling/lubricating oil is dumping into the exhaust...I have never messed with a PTC turbo but many on hi perf autos..The best way to keep this from happening is to let the engine run at idle for several minutes before shutting down.

Wife's old V12 twin turbo BMW had a electric pump to circulate oil thru the turbo's for about 10 min.AFTER engine shutdown. The same pump pressurized the oil system before startup. They still recommended to let it idle for at lest 5 min BEFORE shutting the engine down. This is to remove the heat from the turbo seals....

After you get the turbo out CAREFULLY mark evertyhing as you take it apart and take the turbine itself to a place that rebuilds turbochargers , I don't really trust the exchange units that are available.
.
The only turbocharger I've had fail was on my drag boat when it ingested some piston parts...Just have to take care of them...Fresh Oil-Fresh Oil-Fresh Oil-Good Synthetic Oil-Good Synthetic Oil-Turbo Rated Oil-Turbo Rated Oil---- Did I make myself understood about the oil ??

TT V12 BMW... oh my! would love to see/hear more about that one... who did the TT setup?

turbo timer, yup... like I said friends car, my guess is she didn't even know she was buying a car with a turbo and what it means for potential failure(hard lesson now) but as I've mentioned she knew enough to run synth and question the dealer when they switched and no has the financial repercussions of trusting the dealer.

it's a bit of a bad scene needless to say...

Factory M7 Prototype but the factory doesn't admit it or that the project ever existed..Built on a 88 750i..Old racing buddy of mine aquired it before it got to the cutter/shredder after the project was dropped..That's all I can really say about it..
