One way to verify if its motor or electrical would be to pull the sensor and "T" in a mechanical gauge for a while.

bump for some more info.
i know its an old thread but my cruiser has been doing the same thing from time to time. oil seems fine so i was wondering where the connector is so i can check and see if its electrical. thanks for the help

Hello, I'm having this exact same problem,it's very intermitant, I'm getting a code " low voltage to oil sending unit" has anyone resolved this problem. I've noticed my battery is starting to get weak,could this be the problem?Thanks 2003 turbo

BUMP for this thread.
So is the resolve actually the oil sensor? It's sounding like that you all resolved this problem, but still it sounds foggy. Please submit your results in this situation. Thanks

The oil sending unit does go bad. A few owners have replaced theirs to cure the problem.

scarabY2k, a lot of the aftermarket sensor do NOT like the PT's, however OEM's work fine.
