is my exhaust burning my bumper?? (pics included)

i just noticed this today and i'm a little worried. i searched the forums to see if anyone else has had a similar issue but i couldnt find anything. should i be concerned or is this normal?

Sure looks like it is. Why isn't your tip in the notch and sticking out past the valance?

is there a piece missing? i just bought it from used car dealership a week or two ago. at least its still under warranty. i have no idea if they gave me the tip when i bought it or not. then again i live in l.a. so i wouldnt be the least bit surprised if someone stole it. ugh

Agree 100%, your exhaust tip is missing from the muffler.

thank you!! it didnt look right but i couldnt figure out what was wrong. so all i need to do is buy a new exhaust tip and put it in and i should be good? should i be worried about the damage?

The damage is superficial but I wouldn't leave it that way. Yes, just buy a chrome tip and either use the built-in screws to make it tight or have a muffler shop weld it on.

It also looks like you might have to go to a muffler shop anyway as the exhaust isn't pointing directly at the space in the bumper.

hmm ok. i'll try to screw it in and see if it fits ok. how likely is it that the tip may have just fallen off in the two weeks i've had it?

It's possible but it probably fell off because it was banging against the bumper and hot enough to cause the burning and ripping.

Oh man, dat be fugly! And yes, it should have a tip on that muffler! Get that thing fixed afore it melts that damn bumper, and soon. The bump material behind that plastic bumper shroud is very flammable!

Also doesn't look like your muffler is sitting level. Have you crawled underneath it? I'd force them to put it up on a lift and allow you to look at the underside. All kinds of issues can be hidden under there.

It's flat out in the wrong place, somethings been done to that exhaust.

See here, it should line up right in the middle of the bumper cutout...
