Default 2005 Engine Cover?

I bought my 2005 Limited Edition (non turbo) used. While installing my KN FIPK kit The directions stated to remove the engine cover. Well I do not have an engine cover over the intake. I wonder if my car ever had one and if 2005 models did come with one can anyone forward me a photo so I can try to find one.

Thanks in advance.

Your upper intake will have 3 holes in it (see arrows). The holes are places where pegs will fit that hold the vanity (modesty) cover. Chrysler stopped putting the vanity cover on the engine to save money. The pegs and cover itself can be bought at the Chrysler dealer if you want one. It serves no purpose other than covering part of the intake.

It comes black but can be painted to match any accessories that you have.
