Hey Pops, first...
![]() And yes, it can some times get a bit snippish around here, but don't take it personally. I've used the Cranes now for 1 year, and since installing them they have doubled in resistance. They were about 500 ohms when I installed them and they are almost twice that now. That's not good, it's probably heat wear breaking them down because I drive like a maniac...well fast, not ridiculous... I'm moving to the Granatelli's myself. They are about $20 more than everyone else, and from what I've read well worth it. I personally don't like the makeup of the MSD's, and have never had a good MSD coil, so find their products to be somewhat unworthy of my PT. Make sure you get 8.5mm or thicker, that's one key to them lasting, and low ohmage. The lower the resistance, the more spark you'll carry. So welcome here, hope you have fun, and if you ever need anything feel free to drop a line!!! Oh, here's a good read for you on the wires: 03-05 Dodge SRT4 Ignition, Spark Plug Wires, Spark Plugs and Coil Packs SRT-4

Here you can find Magnecor and MSD plug wires, guess from reading this info the MSD's sound pretty good, still think the Gran's are better with the stainless core versus copper. However, lots of good PT stuff here..
03-09 Pt Cruiser GT Spark Plugs, Spark Plug Wires, Coil Packs Hey, Tinosa, do the MSD's really have a 90 degree connector at the coil pack, and if so any problems connecting them? Are they all red, or do you know if they come in other colors??? And Pops, the Gran's are listed as MPG wires, you can find them here, they are pricier than when I looked last year so I may go MSD and see how they hold up... MPG Gas Saver Plug Wires You'll find two part numbers for these: NA PT = Mfr. #34-1603MPG Turbo PT = Mfr. #34-1732MPG May be easier to search by those numbers...

Team - do the SRT-4's use the same plug wires? The reason I ask is the Gran's for the SRT-4 are half the price for those listed for the PT...

Since I have 99,600 miles, I'm about to do the full maintenance (plugs, wires, transaxle flush and the whole under carriage check) at the 100k mile marker.
I already have the Champion #7570's and just went to the site listed above and ordered the granatelli's. That was about 2 hours ago. I just got an email saying they are shipping them out already. I choose the cheapest shipping method since I don't need them for a couple months but their processing is outstanding. The same type plugs and MOPAR Performance wires have been in since 50,000 miles. Smooth idle, no hesitation and it will still chirp the tires from a stand still.

Yea that's a sweet deal - beats $90+ other sites want for the Granatelli wires. Maybe I should swap out the OEM wires even at only 30K on the clock.
Good article on the SRT-4 that states the engines are the same ....... The Dodge Neon SRT-4 - turbocharged dodge neon

I just got a set of the Granetelli's along with the NGKs (one step colder) and I couldn't believe the difference!!!! I have a high powered (1000) hp motor in my dragster and I didn't pay as much for those plugs and wires as I did for the P.T. but for some reason I think its worth it!!!!
