cooling fan blades

My cooling fan is dead in my -01 PT and I'm now out shopping for a new one. I checked with Chrysler and they will charge me around 570$ for a new complete unit with fan blades and plastic housing etc....
My cheap plan is to get just the fan motor from a junk yard and move over the fan blades from my broken motor. So my question is, has anyone done this and is it worth the effort? The motor might cost me around 100$.
Any suggestion are welcome!

You can buy a new motor from Auto Zone. There's a sticky on the top of the Tech section that shows how to take out the old fan/blades/housing. You WILL have to take the whole unit out to replace the motor. Yes, a lot of us have done it. You can pick up a whole unit: motor/housing/blades from eBay for around $100 and just replace the whole thing.
