Default Added OEM Speed Control - Not working

I bought an OEM Speed Control and installed it. I couldn't get the "Cruise" light to come on when I pushed in on the button on the end to the arm.
I called the service dept and was told that the 05's need the computer "flashed" for it to recognize there is now a Speed Control unit attached.
So I took it in and had them flash the computer. It still doesn't work, and they want another $127 to diagnose the problem.
I wanted to check all my connections first, before I pay again.....any suggestions on what to look for?
I read somewhere that there has been problems with the switch that attaches to the steering wheel being bad, but the parts guy could not find any info on that.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

There is a small vaccuum hose that attaches to the control unit on the passenger side - from underneath - if that comes off, no cruise - I had that....

But will having the vacuum home disconnected cause the "Cruise" light to not come on?
By the way, it is connected and there was vacuum present when I pulled it off the control unit.....

The PCM automatically detects the cruise control. Did you install the overlay harness? Some cars came ready to plug in and some not.... The directions show you the difference. If the switch is bad it can cause the same problem.
