The sensors have different lengths or the wiring that comes with the sensors? I went to the Rock Auto parts site and both sensors look the same, it's just that the downstream sensor had a longer wiring harness.

I just went out and looked at the 02 sensor on my 2001. Sorry but I don't feel like crawling under the car right now (7 am) but the front sensor (upstream) has 4 wires and doesn't have very far to go before attaching to the clip.

So, between the two that you have, if one of them has 4 wires and is short, that's the front 02 sensor. The other is for the sensor at the CAT.

As said on Page 1, I got that code 6 months ago and was told it was the downstream.

I replaced it with AutoZone.com | | Oxygen Sensor | BOSCH O2 SENSOR and the code hasn't returned over the last 9000 miles.
