We just bought our second PT Touring Edition. A 2004 Electric Blue with Chrome Trim, and the "Turbo" option. I was under the impression that the turbo put out 235 HP but now I see Chrysler also produced it with a 180HP version. So which do I have??? Is the High Output 235HP only in the "GT" or Dream series? Or is it possible I do have the 235HP version?
Thanks Dave Cumming, GA. |

Does it have the "high output" badge on the rear?
I suspect not so you have the 180HP mosel. Look here: http://www.ptcruiserclub.org/cgi-loc...=unread#unread He has a pic of the high output badge in his signature. |

Yes, the 2004 GT High Output Turbo does have a PT Cruiser emblems on both sides of car like the others. Most likely, I'll keep the stock side emblems on my car.

PTCumming, for 2004 the 220 HP turbo is not available in the Limited or the Touring Editions, only the 180 HP. The Dream Cruiser and the GT have the 220 HP "High Output" standard on them.
In 2003 on the Dream Cruiser and the GT had the 215 HP turbo and the 180 HP turbo was not available.

So then my next purchase should be the MoPar Turbo upgrade. Anybody have a good source and part number?

I am not sure the Stage 1 Turbo Upgrade works on the 180hp turbo engine, but, I don't know. Check out the GT Turbo Forums [u]Stage Turbo Kits</u> and post your question there--you should get the answer. I am one of those who will not be considering this upgrade anytime soon due to warranty and emission control issues. My turbo car has all the power I really need now and I do not want to take a chance with my investment for only a 20hp gain. Just my two cents. Good luck.
