Talking Re: Oil Fiilter Cross Reference Question

For what little it may be worth, PTs will also accept the same oil filters that a Saturn S series car will take. That was good news for me when I sold my last 1993 Saturn SW2 to buy the 2001 PT. I had a small number of oil filters left over. Also, the same oil filters will fit our 2007 Chrysler T&C 3.8 V6. They won't fit my Cummins Turbodiesel, but that'd be asking a lot.

My research has found that Arvin-Meritor used to make the Purolator filter and also the Motorcraft (perhaps others too). The Motorcraft filters were the exact same thing as Purolator PureOne. I cut open a Motorcraft FL-280S and it seems well constructed. I also cut open a SuperTech filter from WalMart and the bypass valve was plastic. I have read in more than one place that Mopar filters are among the very worse.
