Default Leaking oil cap?

Has anyone experienced an oil cap failure?
I'm losing now about a quart of oil between oil changes. I do have 40k on my '06 n/a, but my old 90 escort only burned about a quart between oil changes as it reached about 100k. So I'm hoping it's not cooking all that oil.

Left in the drive after running around town, I might find a few drops of oil on the pavement, passenger side, about in line with the timing belt or so. The only place I can see obvious oil in the compartment, is aounr the left side of the oil cap, and then down the same side of the engine towards the timing belt cover. There's no oil on the hood, or any obvious oil anywhere else I can find, including around the back of the valve cover.

Is it possible I'm pushing oil out around the oil cap, or that I'm actually burning it up? I'm an aggressive driver, so I'm sure I wear the engine a bit more than gramma, but I don't hot rod it.

Thoughts?

The PT "Cruiser" doesn't like aggressive drivers. You shouldn't have ANY oil drops on the ground when parked and if it's leaking then, it would probably leak more under pressure while your driving. I seriously don't think it's coming from the oil cap, never heard of that. Could be the seals for the Camshaft/Crankshaft. They would leak on the passenger side. Mine had to be replaced when I had the timing belt changed.

Take a look at the PCV valve and it's tube for failure while your looking at things.

Thanks for the suggestion, I wish it had worked.
