lots problems need help

2001 pt base model the alt light comes on templight stays on and the temp gage stay at the bottom and the engine light stays on and runs like shit i have tried every thing but not getting no ware need help please.

Welcome to the Forum. Have you done the key dance? Turn the key from ACC to START without starting 3 times, the last time leave it in the start position. If there is a code it should show up in the odometer area. You will either a done (no code stored) or a PXXXX code. In the Performance topics there is a description of what the PXXXX codes are.

Come back and let us know what you find. IF that doesn't work try going to a mechanic and he will hook up with a code reader and let you know.

We also need to know the background of your car. What year, what kind of maintenance was done and what you mileage is. Did you just buy the PT with all those problems or have you had it for awhile and they just started popping up? Last but not least, what have you done yourself to try and fix any of those problems.

just bout it it has 165k miles on i got for 1500 buck so could not pass it up just tring to get it gonning closed to reliable

Too many codes at one time. They are probably stored in the computer for a long time from different problems. Take off the battery cable for about 5 minutes to clear the computer memory.

You say you tried everything...like what. Have you had the battery and alternator checked out? Have you replaced the plugs and wires?

You say the temp light stays on but the temp guage stays at the bottom (cold) ?
