hey guys does anyone know how to get to the alternator the best way? i looked at it and it looks like its not toooo easy to get to i got it on ramps but it still looks hard? any help? crewzin? or someone thats done it? plse thank u wjh

From what the manual says you have to remove the axle shaft and lower control arm off. I've looked at this with some dread if my alternator died. I did see one post here that said where you can snake it out through the top. Looking my nonturbo manual I think I could do it.
You at least need to remove the splash shield and pencil brace to get to the alternator attachments. Good luck. Let us know. |

where did u see that post about the alternator coming out the top the only thing holding it back is corner of exhaust manifold im gonna cut that off or grind it off the corner to have clearance i aint taking the whole axle ans sucg out to change it lol

It was somewhere in the depths of one of these threads. It said something like ' I think you can kind of force the alternator out of the top'. Nothing more helpful like instructions.
