I have an '06 PT Cruiser that the A/C compressor apparently stopped working... I have tried looking for the fuse in the power distribution unit in the engine compartment; nothing there references the A/C system (no fuses are blown anyway). I also do not know where the compressor relay is.
Can anyone help? |

For some reason ($$$) MaMopar decide to do without the a/c relays in 2006. All major circuitry was wired into PCM and if anything a reflash by the dealer could be the repair. You could first start with disconnecting your battery for 10 minutes restart....This will reset your PCM if the problem lies there. But the culprit is more likely a compressor failure or the low and high comp. clutch switches failed on the compressor. There is also a a/c pressure cycling switch but when that fails it usually alternating warm to cold air.
Not sure but either the low or high comp. switch is easily replaced, the other requires discharging the freon from the a/c system. Good Luck, 66CUDA |
