Okay here I go. 6-7 weeks ago i had to change the battery. I had to pour some water with baking soda over the post so that I could get the acid off them. It was then about 2 weeks after this that the the Engine Light came on. When the Check Engine light comes on the transmission will not shift gears ( I think that it is staying in first gear.) by way the transmission is an automatic..About 4-5 weeks ago the Check Engine light came on. I took it to the local parts store to use the code reader for it. It comae back with a P0605 (P.C.M. Error) and P0700 (T.C.M. Error). I then took it a a service shop for a deeper inspection. Again they told me that it could either be the T.C.M. or the speed sensors.
Okay here is what I have done to the car as of right now. I changed the battery. Changed the fuild and filter for transmisson ( Heard that this might slove it) I have just got done changing the input speed sensor. As of doing this the check engie light still comes on. I have been told that I can not get a Used or Referbished (T.C.M.) because the vin# is coded into the controler. I found out that there is not a NEW one of these to be found anywhere and that it is a 6-8 weekswaiting period for a new one. I really do not have the money a NEW TCM. Does any one have any ideas. When you do come back to the computer, here's people with the exact same problems and some answers .......
Chrysler Repair: 2002 PT Cruiser error code (limp mode), transmission control module, computer failure I have a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser. The check engine light came on. A friend was able to do a disagnonis and got a code P-0700. (Engine Chrysler PT Cruiser Indicator Lights) After all that; you say you have 117K on the engine. Has the timing belt been replaced? It should have been at about 100K, if not, your driving on borrowed time and the job to replace it runs somewhere around between $800 - $1000.
