Default Serpentine belt change

I drive an 01 pt and i need to change the serpentine belt. I got an extra belt but when i went to change em out it seemed like i had to move pretty much everything to get to it. Is there an easy way to do it?

The only things that need to be moved are the passenger front wheel/tire, inner fender and the drivebelt splash shield. At least that's the way to do it for a 2001.

The automatic tensioner must must be released to allow for the belt replacement. Place a wrench or socket on the tensioner pulley bolt and rotate it clockwise until the belt can be removed.

The Haynes or Chilton manual (under $20 each) explains it all.

Yes, the serpentine belt is also called the drive belt. That's why I called it the drivebelt in my answer. So you posted looking for an easier way to do it after you already did it? Nice one gramps.

I thought the drive belt was the belt on top of the motor? I had to change the belt that connects to the alternator. I wasn't planning on doing it i went to my uncles house to ask him when would be a good time and he said lets do it now ha. But what is the belt on top called? It's got a plastic piece around it and i think its next to a motor mount. I'm not sure if its a motor mount though. It's behind the radiator cap.

Are you talking about the timing belt? On the end of the engine?

Maybe, Crewzin, you can help me. I am seeing all sorts of posts on how to replace a serpentine belt but not one about about WHEN. My '05 PT has 82,000 on it and I know it's never been replaced. Any ideas?
