Default Timing belt what a JOB!!

OK so I was driving to work and I heard a noise from the engine bay I opend the hood at work and it was coming from timing belt cover the belt was slapping the timing cover so I took the top cover off and the belt was loose so I ordered a tensioner it was $80.bucks and a belt that was $30.bucks got both today
this job is not for the week (LoL) it took me all day: with a little cursing and busted knuckles job is done..
Now the engine light is on (WTF)
I have 02 PT it has 108121 miles::
This is the first timing belt change & tensioner::
PS:: Now I know why the shop charge's $1100.00Bucks

You say engine light is on, what kind of code are you throwing? Do the key dance and let us know. Instructions are on a sticky in the performance section.

You don't need one -
Turn key "ON" - right before start
Off (back one click)
ON
OFF
ON
in the odometer window it'll give a code like P1684 and "done"
You should always get at least "done".
Or -
Disconnect battery for a few minutes and see if light comes back on.
Does it run okay?
It's hard to line timing up right - if you're off a tooth on the belt it'll run, but not well and could give a code.

Good thing you replaced it.... I totaly spaced it out on my 03 gt and it broke at 111,000 miles while i was on the highway..... Not fun costed 2,000 dollars and took a month because they had to send the engine block in to get reforged, all pistons replaced.... But i did get a good deal on replacing the water pump/turbo since they already had the engine out!

If light is off and doesn't come back, no worries...
Hope you put in new plug wires with plugs - the stock wires don't last.
Hats off to you doing the belt yourself.
