Default No rear muffler, pipe only?

Anyone running this way, with the Cat providing the sound lessening?
Either with a replacement pipe or with a cheater with a dual side 'Y'ing off same????

TIA
Lars

Lars,

I run en E-Cutout just behind the cat. When I want to run basically straight exhaust I just hit a switch on my dash and open the electric cutout. I then get a loud, deep sounding exhaust that sounds more like a V8 than a four cylinder. When I want to quite things down I just hit the switch in the oposite direction. It works great. Here's the URL of the company that sells them. http://dmhperfproducts.homestead.com/borlaplate.html

Jerry,
How do you route your exhaust after it leaves the cutout? Separate pipe to where? Would there be a way to route this exhaust to a functioning lake pipe under the rocker panel? What about heat, any potential for damaging interior carpet, etc?
Thanks
GW

GW,

The cutout is actually welded into the exhaust system right behind the cat. The exhaust (when the cutout is open) then goes to the ground about the drivers seat area. You can see pictures of installations on DMH's web site. I have had the cutout for over 8 months and there has been no extra heat to the passenger compartment, or no exhaust fumes either. As far as lake pipes go I would suggest that you contact DMH Performance. They make a great product and the owner, Dave, is a great guy to work with.
