Unhappy ... My pt is falling apart :(

I have had SOOO many problems with my PT, and I can't stand it any more. IF someone stole my care I would be okay with it. My car spends more time in the shop then on the damn road!

I have had so many problems with it I can't even name them all off the top of my head!

I had leaks onto the snow yesterday so I took my car in this afternoon to have it looked at.
Where the found THREE problems!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! MY car is less then 70k miles on it and it has had so much.

THey had to put a new theromostart ring on it.

AND worse of all they said they have to order a new rack from Chrysler because its leaking and its over 700 dollars!

THey also said that it Needs a new shift pack! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!

It is sad to say but no one in my family will ever by a chrysler again.

dont say that lol normally pt,s are an ace car

most cars have a few problems its just sad that yours seems to be one of the ones haveing more than most
when i 1st got my pt i had to do a few repairs as previus owner did not maintian it properly but i sorted it out ok

i found my pt a ace car as most on here on the forum have
its a common fault with a few cars leaking steering racks etc
you can get them refitted / fixed
give the pt time when you sorted out the repiars and got it all sorted you will be a happy cruiser lol

Megan, I'm sorry to hear all of this. Not cool at all, but did you buy it used or new? What kind of warranties do u have on it, if any?

I bought mine used, but also paid for an extended warranty and this has saved me sooo many times. My warranty has just gone out, but I had quite a few things replaced while I had warranty (my dealership had as many items replaced as possible b4 my warranty went out).

Sorry to hear this...and btw how long have you owned it?

I have had it since August 2007. And it is in the shop literally every 3 months. My parents thought it would be a great car for me because it was the owners of the car dealership.

1. New foglemap switch
2. Leak in the evap system
3. Belt squeel
4. New thermostat O ring
5. Steering Rack
6. Shift Pack

Those are the 6 major things that have happend that doesnt include all of the small things.

I got it at 48k miles it now has 62k Miles an is only driven to campus and home and work and home and sometimes the store but thats about it.

My gf's car is the same way , she has had to have numerous things fixed on it ..

It mysteriously looses water from the cooling system , I cant find a leak anywhere ( need to run dye still) .

When you fill the car up with gas it starts to run like crap , get 1/8th under full and it runs fine .

A few misc. hoses dry rotted ( its a 03' ) , an we just found out the other
day when I went to clean the engine comp. that it has a intake or vaccum leak somewhere .. The car died when I went to wash the motor an revs when carb fluid is sprayed around the intake area (by the oil fill cap).Luckily it wasnt enough water to hurt anything cause I was using the spray on "mist" .

It has had 4 batteries in it since she has owned it in 05' , the timing belt has been replace (which probably needed to be done) , an the IAC sensor needs
to be replaced again.

I called Chrysler to ask them if it was a common problem... and the guy on the phone was just rude!

and he goes well I can't tell you that.

Then he goes well your car is 7 years old.

I don't care if it is 7 years old its only 62k miles. I had a cutlas cerria for 4 years and was a 90 something and it was only in the shop for an oil change and it had over 100k miles on it so that crap of 7 years is dumb!

I LOVED the car when I first saw it. I am 6 feet tall and the inteior is AMAZING! I love the inside and the heat warmers in this cold weather but gosh its too bad chrysler was so rude and it has soo many problems.

I had to jump it once due to a short in the switch and only the tow truck could jump it because the + and - are in such bad spots we tried two different cars to jump it.

LOVE the inside who new one car could suck soo much with mechanical stuff.
