Default Does not start (no ignition / electrics OK) - HELP!!

Hi,
I live in the UK, and I've got a PT Cruisher (2006 - Auto - 2.4 - 28,000miles). It's been -6 Degrees (very cold for the UK!) and the car started fine, it's been on the drive for a few days and worked fine - but today (0 degrees) it will not start (no ignition or clicking, as if it is dead) at all with the key turned in the ignition.
The electrics seem to be OK (lights on dash, remote locking, headlights all light up OK) - the battery has also been checked and charged OK and I've attempted to 'jump' the car with leads - but it still will not turn over and start? HELP!!! Any ideas????

Welcome.
With a "jump", you've ruled out battery.
Ignition switch?
Starter?
See if you can put 12V directly on starter to rule that out.

Have someone turn the key to the "start" position while you take a meter and check for 12 volts on the small wire at the starter motor. If you have voltage at this point, everything up to the starter is OK...the starter/solenoid will have to be replaced. If no voltage is present, more troubleshooting is necessary...something in the start circuit (ie- ignition switch, starter relay, etc.) is bad. Be careful when troubleshooting around a starter motor...in case the vehicle does try to start.

It's very likely that you have a bad connection between your battery positive post and the main starter solenoid connection.
In that case if you use your jumper cables and put the plus cable directly onto the starter you will start immediately.
I've had to to this multiple times on multiple PT's.
A new quality battery cable is the simple fix.

There is also the possibility of a bad cold start relay.

Good idea to look at the battery cables positive and negative ...the OEM positive battery cable and terminals especially are marginal at best...check for broken wire or bad terminal or corrosion, if in any doubt, replace them before condemning the starter motor. Again, be careful when troubleshooting around the starter motor...the vehicle could try to start.

Many Thanks to everyone for replying.

The terminals have been replaced (corroded) but the problem was still there and now the garage has said it's the immobiliser!!!!

Garage has approached Chrysler for codes but will they give them to a garage and at what cost????

Also, will the key Fob need recoding or will the original code be given????

HELP!!!!!
