Default 2006 PT Won't start when it's warm in the cab

Howdy,

I have a 2006 PT with about 46k miles on it. Its a standard and I notice that when I park it outside and it gets warm in the cab I have trouble starting it. Once it cools of it starts fine. I've even used some canned air to blow in the key hole and it start right up, at times.

This always happens when the car has been sitting for 4+ hours. When I park at work I park in a garage and the car cranks first time every time. Any hints?

I don't hear any clicks when it's trying to start, just turn the key and silence. It's not a consistant problem it crops up randomly, typically to my wife.

Welcome to the forum.
Check battery cables - take them off, clean them, and re-attach.
Could also be ignition switch - try pushing in in key while starting....

I have tried pushing in to start and a few times that has helped. The battery is clean, it was the first place I went looking.

Be sure you can't move the cables - if they're loose, that'll do it.

If you can push it in and sometimes that will help it start, it sure sounds like an ignition switch problem to me.
