Default AC Control Knob Lighting Bulbs

Hello everyone,

I have looked EVERYWHERE for the part number I need for these on an 01 PT. I am referrring to the center console AC control knob backlights. The manual lists 6233137 but to my knowledge this either doesn't exist or no one knows what it is.

I would really appreciate if someone could tell me where to buy these bulbs or the numbers on them!

THANKS!

Paul

The climate control lighting is LED and not serviceable. This is according to Chrysler's records.

I understand that there are two HVAC controls: A digital climate control (screen) and a manual/switch/knob control. For the latter, the bulbs can be found at SuperBrightLeds.com.

I have yet to see a PT Cruiser with digital climate control.

Sorry about that, you're correct. I just would have assumed that Chrysler would've added those in the years since 2001 (my year). Anyway, the bulbs for this vehicle can be purchased at superbrightleds.com. When received, take off HVAC knobs, pry open windows switch, remove power to windows switch, pop off that center bezel, and the lights are exposed. Take off the two screws on either side of the HVAC Control Center (where you removed the knobs when the bezel was on). Remove lights from the back (they are twist). Here are the knobs as needed on the website. I purchased a White led, which is actually slightly blue, but still looks nice.

White NEOx-WHP 4mm NEO4-xHP

Hope this helps anyone in a bind!

I change all my interior lights to LED blue! I found my AC lights here so I hope this helps! The right one is T4. Good luck!

Paul how many lights are back there? Thanks for the directions.

Rocketman I am REALLY interested in what you did! I've always loved the blue instruments that my '02 GTI had and wish I could have them in the PT too. I see they are #74 instrument bulbs but what model LED bulb were they? Thanks.

Pat1USMC,

There are three bulbs (at least in mine). I found that a pliers with either a shop towel or electrical tape over it (so it doesn't break the bulb) was needed to remove the bulb. The new ones, when going in, only need to twist about 30 degrees before they are secure.

I know the second question wasn't addressed to me, but I do have an answer. You are correct about the #74 part. There are many #74 type bulbs, the one you need is called a #74 Neo Wedge Twist Type Bulb (4MM) - for the HVAC.

Hope that answers your questions!

Thanks! I'm going to give the instrument lighting and HVAC lighting a try.

One thing on the instrument lighting (just for advice purposes)....I recently did mine and found that the position of the lights was key, the instrument cluster is very finniky about how they are placed/twisted in.
