Default Reflashing PCM Stage 1

When I talked to Flight systems reprogrammer about reflashing a used module, I was told the module controls the engine and transmission, so what does the Dealer have to do to "reteach" the transmission? Is there any reason I can't install it myself?

You can do the tranny learn yourself. It's just a bunch of spirited runs that allow the tranny to learn the new shift points. This is for the auto only. The dealer does the tranny learn with a handheld, but charges way to much. No tranny learn for the 5 speed.
