Default car won't start, goofy sound

After all the snow, I was finally able to get to one of the cruisers and it won't start. However, the starter is clicking, but the engine won't turn over. All interior lights, fan, radio work. When I turned the key off, all the instrumentation panel lights and interior lights start going nuts until I step on the brake. That's what I have to do to stop the remote starter if I have used it. The remote starter hasn't worked for months. Could the battery be low on amps? I haven't changed the battery since I've owned the car (more than a year).
This is the same cruiser I have been fighting the misfire problem on. I really need to get this thing running to get it to the shop.

Thanks.

Jeremy

Clicking sound is a sure sign of a battery that needs charging. The starter takes more power from the battery than anything else so you need around 11.8 volts. The horn, lights and other accessories might work on the lower voltage but the starter won't have enough power to turn over the engine.

Agree. Either jump it or charge the battery.

didn't bother with jumping...I've never had good luck with the goofy charging post. I just bought a new one and it runs now. Remote starter works, too. Battery I took out was from 2006. Now I have to tackle an overheating problem! There was little to no coolant in res. I may still have a thermostat or water pump problem, but at least I'll know where to start.

Thanks.

Don't forget to bleed the air out of you system. Bleeder valve is below the thermostat housing.

I think your suggestion about bleeding the air out of the system is a good one BUT we're talking about replacing the battery, not the radiator.
