Bummer, but not the end of the world. Can be fixed, and easier on a PT Cruiser than on, say, a 1967 Mustang 390 with air conditioning.

I did a quick google search on "spark plug rethreading kit PT Cruiser" and got a bunch of hits. This is a sample 5-PIECE SPARK PLUG HOLE RE-THREADING KIT - CarParts Quality Discount Parts and Accessories

A decent parts store can help you out. I suggest that you fashion an extension wand for your shop vac to clean out the cylinder the best you can before startup, though.

While you are at it, buy a name-brand torque wrench that'll display 13 ft-lbs so it won't happen again. I suggest against the clicker kind. Clickers are OK, in my opinion, for torques over, say, 30 ft-lb where a 5 ft-lb error isn't so possibly devastating.

Thank you much. Fortunately I already had one of the kits that you posted the link to. I was kind of hoping that someone would pop up and say "that's easy, just...". Unfortunately I had to tap the hole with the kit you described putting shavings in my freshly rebuilt motor. After using the compressor and shop vac, I cleaned out the hole to where I could find no more traces of shavings and the spark plug is in!
Thanks again,
Chuck

A magnet works good to get out the small shavings in the hole that might have fallen inside.

Unfortunatly the head is made out of aluminum and so the shavings that fall will be aluminum and magnets don't stick to them.
