Default Brake Drum's and Shoe's removal and replacement directions

I have an 01 Limited Edition with 158,000 miles and am trying to remove the drums to get a look at the shoe's and drum's.
I've taken to Les Schawbe to do this for me and get the 90% braking story.
I want to at least have a look!
I can not believe these brake's do not need be serviced..
Any instruction how to do this my self will be greatly appreciated.

So far I've been able remove the rear wheel and using brake adjusting tool turn the adjusting cog behind or inside the backing plate till it stops and can not remove the drum... Do I have to remove the spindle ?

Possibly rusted on, WD-40 around the lug bolts and a BIG Hammer.

He's got it. If that don't work, get a bigger hammer. If you adjusted the shoes away from the hub, then it's just rusted to the lugs.

Also make sure there's no locking tabs around any of the lugs. They are put on at the factory to keep the hub on the spindle while it's going down the assembly line.
