From when I had my focus and spent alot of time on the focus forums.

They may work for very low rpms but once your running the electric motor actually robs performance because it can not push enough air and will actualy restrict air flow. There were 1 or 2 people that actually dynod their cars with it installed and without it and made more hp without than with.

If you ever saw a diesel or aircraft engine supercharger compared to an electric fan supercharger, it would make you wonder if the electric fan were capable of packing enough air into the intake manifold to make a difference. In a high performance engine, it can take as much as 100 horsepower just to run the supercharger. Hard to imagine a puny plastic fractional horsepower electric fan having any useful affect.

I did see a picture of a gas-powered leaf blower duct-taped to intake - that'd probably work.

you laugh! i had a honda 9.9hp on a 10ft flat bottom that we rigged a blower to. it would run like a champ...until 30ft from the dock we had used 2 gallons of gas

we bored the injectors so it pretty much poured gas into the chamber... it was super loud too... in order to take it for a trip you had to carry atleast 20 gallons of gas which would act in reverse of the added power due to the added weight.

i was 16 and everything was free so i didn't care. God did i waste alot of money back then

Josh

ps- we also rigged a ryobi weedeater as a trolling motor, but we kept throwing the prop because we couldn't get it balanced.
