Default Re: timing belt

Usually there's no warning. The belt just breaks. Once is a while we hear of someone with a rough running engine and that's because the belt is stretching and the timing goes out but that's a rare occasion.

Most of the time it just breaks when trying to start the engine and all you get is the engine light. The fault codes are usually for the Camshaft sensor or the Crankshaft sensor which aren't sending any signals for the computer to read because nothing is turning when the timing belt breaks.

We recommend to everyone that listens to change the belt at 100K (miles).
