Default Stalling....

I've read dozens of threads about stalling. It seems to be a common problem. I would suggest that it's cronic and that it verges on demanding a class action lawsuit. I have this problem.

My 2003 5 speend non-turbo will stall on deceleration. If it doesn't stall, it will drop to 500 rpms. It doesn't studder. I have no problem with accelleration. It drives fine OTHER than when I'm decelerating. I've cleaned the IAC but may not have been thorough. I've seen where I should make sure the pintle is cleaned. Can anyone post a picture of it?

Much thanks.

My wife's '04 non turbo had that problem when it was pretty new. The dealer flashed the pcm and the problem went away.

Yep, only when slowing down coming to a stop. Really a pain considering it's an automatic. Ran fine other than that.

You IAC should be your main culprit. If you've already cleaned it, it's time to replace it. We have seen owners that tried the cleaning and it didn't work but a new one cleared up the problem. Also make sure the throttle body is clean and free of carbon build-up.

It's what I suspected from the start. I cleaned it but didn't do a great job as I'm not familiar with this model. I'll do it again and make sure it's really clean. I didn't do the throttle body either.
