Cool PCM intermitent malfunction

Hi there...I've got a 2003 GT Cruiser 2.4L Turbo and I was getting a faulty code P0344 and I've found that it was related to my Camshaft Position sensor...So I changed it...and even after changing the part, I was Still getting the code. I've tought that it could be related to a faulty groung or bad voltage going to the sensor...wich I was getting the required 5V on high and the 0.30 V on low....Then I tought of tapping on the PCM module with the handle of my screwdriver and I noticed that when I was tapping on the second terminal of my PCM the engine would start to rough idle and or would die...what can I do to fix this issue...is it common? Do I have to change the PCM? I need help please !

Just a guess but it sounds like yo have a bad connection/solder joint/wire in the computer. Maybe somehow you can pin it down to something that can be fixed but normally PCM's are replaced not fixed.

When you replaced the camshaft position sensor did you take the negative battery cable off when you fixed it. Hopefully you did. That would stop any stray spark and get rid of any old fault codes so you aren't reading the same fault.

No, a bad PCM is not common.

Also - the Cam sensor - was it a dealer part? Many have had problems with aftermarket sensors....
Also, I've read of people getting PCM replaced under a federal emission warranty???
