Default P0700

Daughter's '03 GT, about 86,000 miles.
Went into limp mode, P0700. Any chance it's solenoid packs and not the whole tranny?
Had i flushed at 50,000, too - and yes, ATF + 4.
Anyone know of agood shop in NE philly?

From what I have read it could be the solenoid but you won't know until someone throws it on the scanner. It seems to be one of those codes that could mean anything, but I believe that solenoid is the weakest link.

Agree with Dino, Don. We've seen quite a few packs go out with that code.

Her hubby took it to Cottman - $2,000 for a rebuilt tranny w/1year warranty.
It died totally, no limp mode even....

Got it back yesterday - just under $1,700.
The Cottman guy told me that son-in-law told him car had been rocked in the snow - slammed between forward & reverse - I wasn't told that.
Cottman guy said the least snowfall was very good for his business....
Car drives fine now, and the Cottman place seemed on the Up-n-up.

Well good that the car is fixed and they didn't get raped to bad. I used to have a buddy who worked at a local transmission place and he told me that a rebuilt consisted of replacing the broken part and that's it. I was like shouldn't the name be fixed or repaired transmission than and not rebuilt, he just shrugged.
I'm not sure if it was just his place or all transmission places, always made me afraid of transmission places since.
