Default Engine going past redline.

[:I]I got an auto 04 Turbo H.O. I was playing with a stang GT and stomped her, going about 35mph and the red went 1k past redline[xx(]

Is there a problem?

Since installing stage1 the autostick WOT shifts normally are around 62k-63k. The engine can handle that gracefully without any issues.....

Are we talking 1k as in 1000 RPM past red line? Or 1k = 100 RPM past red line. If it is 1000 RPM past red line (7000 RPM), you have a problem as the rev limiter should have cut you off. If it is only 6100 RPM, then you are fine.

I wish that my autostick would rev past 6000 RPM. In Drive it shifts at 5700 RPM and about the same in autostick. Can't wait for Stage 1 and 6300 RPM!!!

When I haul a** my normal automatic does the same thing. Goes higher than when I have it in autostick. Probably not harmful but as far as engine efficiency goes, you are probably past your peak hp at the normal shifting point.

Well, factory tachs are not the most accurate either, but I don't think it would be a big K off.

I rode in friends V-8 5.0 GT Mustang the other day. There is no way in he!! that my GT can keep up with his V-8. That car is downright scarey when you romp on it. He's going to let me drive next time. I'll post after the ride.
