Default radiator fan

I have a question about the radiator fan. I need to know if there is any difference between buying an after market fan from auto zone and an actual Chrysler product from a dealership. the cost is about a 100 dollar difference. i am asking because i bought an after market thermostat and it didn't work right i ended up having to buy an actual Chrysler thermostat. any info would be appreciated. thanks

Is there a difference? Probably and most likely where they are made and what parts they are made from. We tell everyone that if anything electrical goes bad, like sensors and pressure guages, to always buy Chrysler because there's been many stories about aftermarket parts not working correctly or not lasting very long after installation.

The biggest part of a new fan job is the dealer labor to install it so if you can do that (instructions here on the forum) my advise is to get the Chrysler fan and do-it-yourself.

Do you know what kind of guarantee either the dealer or the auto store gives on the fan? Maybe nothing on electrical parts.

No I didn't get the warranty info, just the price, but I will probably go with the Chrysler part and do the job myself. Thank you for the info.

Get the part # from the tech section, note part manuals are post here in pdf format.

Take part# here and order on line, will save you coinage.

Discount Mopar Parts Jeep Dodge Chrysler parts & accessories with great service

I have had very poor luck over the years purchasing non-OEM electrical and critical parts.

About the only thing I buy after market is moog suspension, shocks struts of various brands, wagner Raybestos brake parts, and reman calipers.

If you go to the above site you are getting a good deal off the dealer mark up.

Usually I would say OEM all the way but the OEM fan really does suck so who knows if it's any better.
