Default rear main oil seal, :-(

hay all, i believe i have my hands full, seems that i am having a rear main seal leak. i know its a fun job, not, how involved is this repair and whats the difficulty level? im am not looking forward to this fix at all. ugh. any input will be great. Thanx my fellow pt people

First off, what makes you say the rear main is leaking? I can't think of a single time when we've had a PT in our shop with a leaking rear main. Not to say it isn't possible...

This isn't a diy repair for most people, unless you have the tools and space to do it. The transmission has to come out of the car.

What year Cruiser??

I think there are some 06/07 with bad thrust bearings which goes out and crank walks and rear main leaks.

year, 2001. the leak is coming from the bottom somewhere. its either the oil sender or the rear main.its coming from somewhere,unless there is something im missing, not to familiar with the pt just yet.

Clean it off really good and use some oil dye. It could be as simple as a pan gasket.

that sounds good, better than pulling the trans, ill give it a try, thank you for the help.
