Turnsignal problems

I have experienced problems with my turnsignals not working for short periods of time. Has anyone else had this problem? I have not been able to get to the dealer when they are not working so they do not want to look at it or research if anyone else has had this problem.

I once had a problem with turn signals. It turned out that when my hitch was put in, they ran the wiring across the muffler and it was causing shorts. Before I realized that, I replaced a ton of fuses. Once I let the car cool off and moved the wiring some, and replaced fuses again, the problem went away and has never come back.

I had that problem about 8 months ago. It happened twice in a two week period and the turn signals stayed non functional for about 5 to 10 minutes. In both cases they started working again and I've had no further problem. I never bothered to ask the dealer about it because I could never get the trouble to reoccur. Strange?

Was dusting interior of my PT on Saturday, found out later that day that my turn signals stopped working.

I assumed it was a fuse problem, so I went over to Pep Boys and got a bunch of fuses. The kit included a little tester, so I tested all of the internal fuses before trying to replace. According to the tester, they were all good.

So I turned my hazards on, walked around the car to make sure they worked (and they did), truned them off and tried the blinker again.

Worked fine.

All regular stock stuff. No funny changes.

IF yours die again, be aware that several folks have had the multifunction switch go bad, causing either signals or foglights to act up (sometimes won't go off).

Sounds like a multifunction switch. If you are interested I have one for an 01 laying around for a non foglamp model. For the cost of shipping it's yours.
