Is there an engine light on saying there's some sort of fault? If so, take your time and do the key dance routine again. All the cruisers have it. If your sure all the belts are OK, including the timing belt, my guess would be one of the main sensors like the Cam or Crank sensor. If either one of those go bad, then there's no signal to the computer and the engine won't start. It will crank but that's all.

If you really can't get the key dance to work, it might be the engine computer died....
How many miles? I think the computer is covered under an emissions warranty - good for 50,000 miles????

sorry forgot to get back w/ a update... the crew was down so i posted here and forgot.

it was the crankshaft position sensor. installed a new one, got it three blocks from my house and snapped the timing belt (yeah!!!). now it's in the garage and i have it apart waiting on stuff from rockauto to put it back together.

ps- rock auto had a Timing Belt kit including both tensioners, belt, and water pump for $142 shipped yeah for great deals. this is also my sisters pt. My GT has less than 40K and sees maybe 200miles a month

Seems that crankshaft position sensor should've thrown a code...
