Radiator fan blowing relay fuse

I have a 2006 PT and the relay fuse for the radiator fan keeps blowing- 3 times in 4 days now. The car is obviously overheating and I pull to the side- replace the fuse- and the fan kicks back on and the car cools down. I'm starting to think the fan motor is going out and the fuses blowing is a result of that. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I found this in a search and the mechanic is pretty sure the fan module (motor) is the cause of blowing the fuses. It's Chrysler 300 but with the same problem.

I was guessing the fan motor was going bad and causing the fuse to blow- thanks for the link. I will check the other things mentioned as to the housing and the turning of the fan itself that might be causing an issue.

It's usually the fan when it starts to go it draws too much and the fuse is doing what it's suppose to do. The fan is crap.

But what would be the causes to blew up a fuse in the first place?

Welcome to the forum.

As Dino's answer above stated; The fan goes bad and draws too much current, so as it's supposed to do, the fuse blows to protect the circuit.
