Default '01 Ignition key switch swap out or...?

Hi, thanks for the help with this question. I have an 01 which originally had the 2 sets of keys and matching fobs. Somewhere down the line, the wife lost a full set of key with the fob; however, I actually think her brother took them when he was around once. He lost his license due to drugs, alcohol, and just plain being stupid and denies whole-heartedly that he took them...which means he did. Let's just say he's less than scrupulous and I wouldn't trust him with a penny. He tried 'stealing' our PT once before while we were out of town but a little guy on my shoulder warned me before we left and so I removed the fuel pump relay and took it with us on vacation. I came back to a dead battery, readjusted driver's seat, broken hood support rod, disconnected brake light switch harness (harness lock was removed) and a neighbor who saw her brother trying to start it. Hmmm, wonder how that happened? UGH !!! Anyways...since I believe he has a set of my car keys, I would like to swap out the original ignition switch with a new one...cylinder, keys, and well as the door and hatch cylinders. Yes, this vehicle has the transponder keys so that's where my dilemma comes into play. Do I just change the cylinders and have a dealer program the 2 new keys OR do I have to also change the transponder module under the dash to match? I'm trying to do this as DIY as possible so any guidance would be appreciated. I have all of the original Mopar service manuals on HOW to replace everything, I'm just looking at the "what's the best way to swap the cylinders out" avenue here. It's awful having a degenerate POS for an inlaw but at least he doesn't know where we're at any longer and so he doesn't know where the PT is to use the keys that he swears he doesn't have. DRAMA, I swear! Thank you again in advance!

Just a thought. You might be able to have a good locksmith re-key all the locks for far less money than replacing all of them. That way you don't have to reprogam anything.

Sorry, I forgot to mention too that I would just like to have at least 1 other set of keys as spares...just in case the wife "loses" my last set. That's what I'm really worried about. So, in any event, I'll need a new key(s) made and programmed.

For that you can get a key and fob off eBay, but you'll need dealer to program...some charge $100.
