Default oil in spark plug hole

I have a 2004 GT with 121,000 miles, and when I changed the spark plugs I found the no 1 plug hole full of oil, completely covering the top of the plug. No. 2 and 3 were dry, and No. 4 had a small amount of oil. Could this be from a bad valve cover gasket?

Thanks for your quick response. Is it much of a job to replace? I have extensive experience working on cars, but not much on the PT. It does't look to be very difficult. Thanks for you info.

It sounds like it's not actually the valve cover gasket, but the tube seal gasket. The little round 'o' ring that goes in the valve cover where the spark plug hole is. Make sure to replace them while you're doing the valve cover gasket.
