Question PCV location

Hi everyone,

Where is the PCV valve on a 2006, Touring ed, type "B" engine? How often does it get replaced?

Thanks

On an N/A its at the air cleaner end of the cam cover, next to the E of the word valve. The hose coming out of it goes to the intake manifold.

On the turbo motors its at the other end of the cam cover near the oil filler cap. Naturally, its hose also goes to the intake manifold.

If I remember correctly, there have two differant types used. One is threaded (screws in and out) and the other is a "push-in and then turn" type.

If I were you and you can't visually tell which type you have, I would get it from the dealer. The parts jockeys at the parts stores may not have a clue.

The PCV valve should be checked and or replaced every 30,000 miles according to the owners manual.

The recommened replacement interval is 60,000 miles or 48 months. If most of your driving is stop and go, I would do it sooner.

I only edited mine with the information about the EGR since I found out the original posted was only talking about the PCV Valve.

Thank you very much. I'm at 56,000 miles and never have replaced it. Going to the dealer and picking one up.
