Default P0551 Error code

Again!!

I asked about this a while ago and after the dealer having my Cruiser and finding nothing wrong, the engine management light went out.
The car was perfect until I went on the motorway for the first time since the last problem, which was this week, on the way home on came the light again! Same problem. Next day...off goes the light!

Cant understand it, maybe my cruiser just doesnt like motorways...thats the only time it happens.
(Not keen on them myself, maybe it comes out in sympathy )

Seriously though...could it be anything to with the air intake? Maybe somethings blocked and it doesnt get enough air when doing above 60mph? Im just guessing, but no-one seems to have a clue why it does this.

Thanks guys!

If you google P0551, you'll find it's the power steering pressure switch.
First step is to be sure ps fluid is full (takes ATF + 4)

Okay....then
1) Disconnect battery to reset engine light & see if it comes back
2) if it does - buy a new PS Pressure switch and replace
3) Still? Drain all PS fluid and replace with new
4) Still? - consider a new PS pump

P0551 is failure of the power steering pressure switch. The only possible causes are a bad switch, a bad PCM, or a short somewhere in the switch's wiring. The pump and fluid have nothing to do with this code.

Replace your pressure switch.
