wont go above 3000 revs

Angry wont go above 3000 revs

i just bought 03 2.2 turbo diesel and the engine management lights on dash and it wont go above 3000 revs-either driving or standing-it just bottoms out like a limp mode . Any ideas very gratefully received please

We don't have the diesel in the U.S. so things might be different than what I'm about to tell you.

First, you can't rev above 300 when your at idle because the computer shuts it's down so you don't over-rev it.

But saying that, if you can't go above that while driving, your in the Limp Mode and you have a problem. The engine light tells you there's a fault code stored in the computer to help diagnose the problem. If you car works like ours, here's a link to tell you how to retrieve that fault code so we can help you diagnose it.
