Angry Key Programming Anomaly

I'm brand new to the forum.

I'm trying to program 2 used RKE fobs I got 2nd hand thru eBay. I've been thru the net and this forum (and others) trying to find out info about programming the the fobs from my original. No problem. I've found dozens. The problem is that they are all the same instructions over and over. My problem is that the 1 fob that came with the car only has a lock & unlock button. No Panic Button or any other button. There is no reference to this fob anywhere that I have found. I live in the UK and the fobs I'm looking to program are from Canada. All three are made by TRW with an eight digit P/N No. and a two letter suffix. The 'original' (mine) has an AB suffix and the others AE with duplicate (same as each other) P/N No. Can anyone make any sense of how I can (or if I can) program the new fobs without going to the dealer?

I'd appreciate any info...thanks.

It may be completely different with the U.K. cars and that's why all the instructions don't match with what you have.

If you go to the largest and most friendly U.K. PT Cruiser site and ask there, they might be able to help you more than we can.

Also in the US, year makes a big difference. 06' and up cannot be programmed by the user. Needs a dealer or locksmith with the proper programmer to do it.

Thanks, I didn't realize there was that big a difference. The car is an '04 and I didn't buy it new. There was only one key with it, so I do believe it to be programmable (in theory). I will pursue the link. If you think reprogramming is expensive there, you can imagine what the cost is here.

I'm from Chicago originally, I didn't know there were national sites. I appreciate the help. Thanks.
