Exclamation crank shaft positioning sensor?? help!

Yesterday when I went to pick up my car at a friends house, it took me 5 times to turn the key for my pt to fully start.. later on last night after my finance was leaving the car wash, while he was driving, the car just cut off.. and now will not cut back on..

When I turn the key, lights come on, radio comes on, etc (so it's not the battery). The car cranks but will not turn over.. It seems everything cuts on but the car itself.. I am being told it could be plenty of things.. but a mechanic earlier said that it sound like the crank shaft positioning sensor? Is this it!?

Please go to the Performance section, look at this, it will tell you how to retrieve fault codes. It will give you somewhere to start.
BTW: Welcome to the Forum!!!

Come back here and we'll help you. If you don't do maintenance yourself, we'll give you the information to take to your dealer or mechanic. The mechanic you talked to earlier was only guess at the cause. There's another sensor (Camshaft) that could also be the cause of your problem. The code should/could tell you which one it is.

OK, you started another thread on finding the code instead of coming back here. I'm closing this thread. No sense of having two going at the same time.
