Default Random check engine light

Hi everybody!
This morning when I started my pt my check engine light came on. I turned off the car immediatlily and cycled the key on and off to check for any error codes, and there were none. I started it again, and the light came back on, but it drove perfectly normal like it always does. When I got home after school, (with the light still on), I disconnected the positive on the battery and left it for 15 minutes. When I reconnected it and started it, it ran fine and no more light. I think this is strange that it happened, but maybe because of the abnormal cold weather were having, something maybe got freaked out. Here in Westchester, CA, it normally gets down to about 59 degrees or so at night, but this morning it was a chilly 49 degrees. This may or may not been a factor, but it's my guess. Please feel free to express any ideas that you guys have on this for me.

Thanks alot!

Purely guessing, but when was last time plugs&wires were done?

When you ran the fault check and had none, did it say "done" ?
